Interior Design Style:
Lola’s Story

I am passionate about designing beautiful homes and spaces. I carefully plan, source and curate each project, ensuring every room tells a story. I love colour and mixing interior styles, seamlessly connecting old and new with charm and sophistication.

My Story

My career began in London as a textile designer. Straight out of art school, I started my brand, selling a collection of knitwear and handbags to much-admired retailers, including Designer's Guild, Paul Smith, Selfridges, and boutiques worldwide.

I moved to Bath; my brand grew, as did my family, so after 3 children, I opened my first Pop-up shop in the centre of Bath, selling a collection of artisan furniture, vintage finds and homewares alongside my knitwear and fashion accessories. I found the perfect way to showcase my design style, which resulted in me moving into designing other people's homes.

At the heart of my work is a comfortable understanding of how and where to use colour and tactile materials to create original and lived-in homes. The foundation of a good room design is listening to the needs of the people living in it and providing a balance of style, fun, and practicality that brings their personalities into the home.

My experience in knitwear and manufacturing in the UK has given me a rich understanding of quality and craftsmanship. I encourage using long-lasting materials that stand the test of time and source products, both old and new, to create homes that look lived in and make you feel comfortable living in them.

My Inspiration

Colour: Throughout my career, I have been greatly inspired by Trisha Guild, founder of Designer Guild, whose love of colour and nature in design resonates with my style. Being the first store I sold my work into, it has always been a special place.

Texture: My background in textiles gives me a wealth of knowledge about the quality and longevity of the materials I use. How a fabric feels and what it's made of is an integral part of my design process.

Pattern: I’m a magpie for interesting, eclectic pieces. I'm never afraid to mix patterned fabrics and wallpaper and love to play with new ideas and combinations.

I am always looking for new products and brands that champion good designs made to last. Throughout my travels, I love to research and visit places to learn more about design culture, appreciate traditional crafts, pop into an interior shop, visit a gallery, and take home a memory of where I have been!
